We arrived in Simferopol' the next day at 12:30m. I was watching out the window while the train entered the station and I saw my friend Julia running down the tracks carrying flowers coming to meet us. I was SO happy. I could not wait for that train to stop.
We got off the train and Julia, her father, and his friend was there to greet us. We cried and hugged, and then went to the car. They brought two cars (Well prepared) and brought us all back to the apartment were we would be staying for the whole time in Simferopol'. It was very clean, in a new building. The apartment is outside the city a little bit, but you could look out the windows and see the mountains.
Julia's grandma Babushka had baked a cake and you could smell it all the way up the stairs to the apartment. Babushka is the sweetest women that you could ever meet. She came out into the hallway and started kissing and hugging us, and dragging us into the apartment so we could eat. She had prepared us a BIG lunch. After lunch we were heading to the orphanage to see our little Zoya.
After lunch we went to the orphanage. It looked much better because now the trees were green, and the roses were in bloom. Everything looked much better this time around.
We went into Ekaterina's office and she was very happy to see us. We hugged and kissed and she told me that she was SO happy that we came back.
A few minutes later the same door that Shayla walking in, opened. It was Zoya. At first she was a bit shy, But within no time she was back on my mothers lap saying "Ya lyublyu" . (I love you)
This was the first time we had seen each other in 6 months. She was sitting on our laps and talking to us, she seemed to be a normal, happy child.
The next few days we spent a lot of time with the Care takers and all the children in Zoya's group. Even though it was the same group that Shayla was in, there were many different children, and a lot of the other children that were there before were gone.
I did however seem to make a buddy. Her name was Oyla. She was a twin, but her twin sister had died in a kidney surgery. Saundra another one of my favorite kids was still there. She would call me MOMMA and stay near me the whole time.
On the playground we played with all the kids in the orphanage. My mother would hand out lollipops to them all and she would be the center of attention. All the children loved my mom. One of my other favortite kids was in my son Sasha's old group. He was very shy at first, but after a few days he would come to me and want to play. While we were at the orphanage we saw a bunch of babies.
We saw many babies outside this time. The weather was perfect. Some days it was cool, and other days I wore my shorts. It could not have gotten any better.
Within a week we were ready for court. |
